Dear Mr. President,

I’m writing to you as an American who still believes in fairness, justice, and the rule of law — not revenge. What’s happening with the prosecution of former FBI Director James Comey feels less like justice and more like political payback. When power starts being used to punish enemies instead of protect citizens, something fundamental in our democracy begins to break.

No one is above the law — not a former official, and not a sitting president. But when prosecutors with little to no experience are handpicked for cases involving people who have criticized or opposed you, it raises real concerns about motives. The Justice Department must never become a weapon for personal or political battles. Once it does, the trust between the government and its people is lost.

It’s troubling that career prosecutors reportedly refused to sign this indictment. That alone says something is wrong. Justice is supposed to be blind — not loyal to any one person. When our country’s top law enforcement institutions are seen as extensions of political power, it weakens everything America stands for: fairness, integrity, and truth.

I ask you to consider how this looks, not just at home, but around the world. If we punish those who disagree with us instead of debating them, we are no better than the regimes we criticize. Great leadership means having the courage to let truth speak for itself, not to silence it.

Mr. President, I hope you’ll choose restraint over vengeance. History always judges harshly those who use power to settle personal scores. What the country needs now is unity, humility, and strength rooted in justice — not anger. Please help restore the belief that in America, justice belongs to the people, not to politics.
