Will the President read my letter?

We cannot guarantee that the President, White House staff, or any elected official will see or respond to your letter. DearPOTUS is an independent public wall — not an official government channel.

Do you send my letter to the White House?

No. Publishing on DearPOTUS does not mail, email, fax, or deliver your letter to the White House or any government office. Your letter appears only on this website after review. For official contact, use White House contact forms (opens in new tab).

Why does it cost $1?

Comment threads and social posts are free — and they fill with bots, spam, and drive-by takes. Here, publishing costs $1 to make mass spam more expensive, encourage thoughtful letters, and help support the site — a small commitment that you meant what you wrote, not just vented into the algorithm. You are not buying White House delivery or political influence.

Optional upgrades may increase the total. You review the final price before Stripe checkout. All payments are non-refundable.

Is there an account or login?

No. DearPOTUS does not use accounts. After you pay, save your letter link from the confirmation page (and optionally “My letters” in this browser). If you lose the link, we may not be able to help you find your letter again.

Is publishing anonymous?

On the public wall, yes. We do not ask you to sign in or put your name on your letter. Approved letters appear without a byline tied to your identity.

Stripe may ask for an email (or other checkout details) when you pay. That is normal for card payments: receipts, fraud checks, and how Stripe runs checkout. That information is for billing — not for labeling your letter. We do not show your payment email on the wall, and visitors cannot look up “who wrote this” from your checkout details.

Paying and publishing are separate steps. Anonymous on the wall does not mean invisible: once approved, your letter is public. Do not write anything you are not willing to share openly. Save your private confirmation link if you want to find your letter again; that link is not the same as your payment email on the public page.

What if my letter is not approved?

Every letter is reviewed for spam, hate, threats, and other violations of our Terms and Conditions. Letters that are denied are not published. Payment is not refunded. See our disclaimer for full details.

How do I find my letter again?

Use the link on the thank-you page after payment, bookmark it, or open My letters in the same browser. Once published, your letter has a public URL you can share on social media.

Are you affiliated with the U.S. government?

No. DearPOTUS is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by the White House, the Office of the President, or any U.S. government agency.
