Mr. Trump:
You like to call yourself “the greatest deal-maker ever,” but the present government shutdown says otherwise. The claim is hollow when we see a broken Congress and a fractured federal government — all because *you* failed to bring the parties together and drive a resolution.
You were supposed to negotiate. You were supposed to lead. Yet here we are: federal agencies shuttered, public services halted, the economy under strain, and millions of Americans suffering — all because no deal was struck. This isn’t a Congressman’s failure. This is your failure as the leader of this nation.
If “deal-maker” means wielding influence and getting a consensus, where is the evidence now? Where is the courage to make hard compromises? Where is the skill to force agreement when it matters most?
You brag about your negotiating acumen. You boast of your deal-making legacy. Now prove it — now fix this. End the shutdown. End the political paralysis. Lead. Or at least stop pretending you already have.
Respectfully (but firmly).
