Dear Mr. President,

I’m writing because this government shutdown is not just politics to me — it’s my life. I depend on SNAP to feed my children, and right now I don’t know how I’m going to get through next week.

Every time Washington stops working, it’s people like us who pay the price. I don’t have savings to fall back on. I don’t have lobbyists fighting for me. I just need to know that when I go to the grocery store, I can buy food for my kids.

I keep hearing speeches and blame from both sides, but you are the President. You’re the one we look to for leadership — and right now, it feels like you’ve forgotten about us. Real people are struggling while politicians argue.

Please stop holding the country hostage over political fights. Please do your job so the government can open again and families like mine can survive.

Sincerely,

A worried parent who just wants to feed their family
