Dear Mr. President,
I’m writing to you after reading about the ceasefire deal between Israel and Hamas. Like many Americans, I feel both relief and worry. Relief because maybe—just maybe—this can stop the killing for a while. Worry because we’ve seen moments like this before, and they don’t always last.
People in Gaza are suffering in ways most of us can’t imagine. Families have lost everything. Hospitals are barely running, and children are going to sleep hungry or scared. Even with a ceasefire, their lives are still in danger every day. I hope our country does everything it can to make sure food, water, and medicine reach those who need them most—right now, not later.
At the same time, the families of Israeli hostages are still waiting, hoping their loved ones will come home. They’ve been through a nightmare too. Every person deserves to live free from fear, no matter which side of the border they’re on.
I know the U.S. can play a big role in making sure this peace deal actually works. It’s not just about politics—it’s about showing the world that America stands for fairness, compassion, and human life. Please use our country’s strength to hold both sides accountable, to protect civilians, and to make sure this is more than a short pause in the fighting.
This could be a turning point if handled right. I truly hope you’ll keep pushing for peace, not just an end to war, but a beginning of something better for everyone who’s lived through this tragedy.
Thank you for listening, and for your leadership during such a critical time.
